Welch Allyn®

PanOptic™ Ophthalmoscope

Be confident in your eye exams with the PanOpticOphthalmoscope—with a 25X larger viewing area to help you examine more of the eye at once.

The revolutionary, wide-view PanOptic Ophthalmoscope addresses the fundamental challenge in ophthalmoscopy: seeing a full, clear view of the fundus in order to make more accurate assessments. Patented Axial PointSource Optics make it easy to enter undilated pupils. And with a 25° field of view, it offers a 5X wider view of the fundus than can be seen with a standard ophthalmoscope in an undilated eye. Viewing the fundus directly through the PanOptic can help you detect retinal changes related to hypertension, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, papilledema and more—so you can better diagnose diseases and care for your patients.

Attention: Not all products/options are available in all countries. Please check availability with your local Hillrom representative or click on Request More Information to contact Hillrom customer service.

      Follow these simple steps:

      1. Turn your instrument head counterclockwise to unscrew it from the power handle
      2. Remove the lamp from the base of the instrument head by pulling it straight out
      3. Insert the replacement lamp by pushing it straight into the base of the instrument head
      4. Reattach your instrument head to the power handle by turning clockwise and screwing it into place

Note: This procedure is for all Welch Allyn otoscopes and ophthalmoscopes except the Welch Allyn pocket scopes. For these, the lamp is located in the throat illuminator piece, below the instrument head.
